  • Born in Bradford, England, 1937
Lives and Works in Normandy, France

Hockney is a pioneer of the British Pop Art movement and one of the most influential living artists today. He is widely known for vividly recognizable works ranging in nearly every medium - photographic collages, opera staging, paintings, and drawings in all methods from pencil to iPad. Since his first solo show in 1963, Hockney has been the subject of several, international exhibitions.  In 2017, Tate Britain in London presented its retrospective, David Hockney, and will subsequently travel to Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York later this year. Paul Kasmin Gallery presented its first exhibition of David Hockney's work in 2015, which featured a selection of the artist's early drawings.
