    Children's Museum of the Arts

Kasmin Kids was launched in 2022 in partnership with the Children's Museum of the Arts (CMA). A program of family-focused events at the gallery runs year-round and includes educational walkthroughs of exhibitions as well as art making workshops that draw on themes from the exhibitions to encourage exploratory and experimental creative processes.

In 2023, CMA and Kasmin hosted a public forum titled SUMMER SCHOOL: Where Does Arts Education Happen? The event invited arts educators and voices from across the city's arts organizations for an open discussion around new models for creative education in New York.

Kasmin shares Children's Museum of the Arts' mission to unite children and artists in the creation of ambitious works of art, and to bring these to their communities and the wider public. Born out of an artist's SoHo studio in 1988, Children's Museum of the Arts has built a living collection of over 2,000 works by children from over fifty countries dating back nearly a century, while connecting young New Yorkers to art and artists.

    Artistic Noise

Kasmin established an ongoing partnership with Harlem-based nonprofit Artistic Noise in 2022. Led by Executive Director Calder Zwicky, the organization creates art making and entrepreneurial experiences for young people whose lives have been impacted by the juvenile court system. Kasmin’s Executive Director Eric Gleason sits on the organization’s board.

In April 2023, Kasmin launched an online auction in collaboration with Artsy in support of Artistic Noise. Work by over thirty participating artists was installed in the gallery space at 509 West 27th Street, raising over $100,000 for future programming.

Since 2001, Artistic Noise has created arts programming in collaboration with thousands of young people who have been impacted by the juvenile court system, probationary system, shelter system, foster care system, and more. Their programming creates transformative spaces where court-involved and system-involved young people can be seen, heard, and supported on their pathways to adulthood. Working within a number of different settings, from detention facilities to diversionary and preventative programs, their workshops create opportunities to explore identities, experiences, and complex socio-political issues in a safe and structured, creative environment. Consisting of artists, educators, activists, art therapists, and a community of gifted young people, Artistic Noise holds at its core the belief that art can be a powerful tool to create real-world change and fight back against a variety of societal inequities.
